Apple admits iPod Nano screen problem
Sep 28, 2005 Apple, Industry News
Just few weeks after launching of iPod Nano, there is a lot of complaints about easily scratched iPod Nano and some said they received iPod Nano with broken screen, just like this:

[Picture from Wikipedia] Regarding these issues, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Product Marketing Phil Schiller has made such responce:
This is a real but minor issue involving a vendor quality problem in a small number of units. In fact, this issue has affected less than 1/10 of 1 percent of the total iPod nano units that we’ve shipped. It is not a design issue.
[...]
We have received very few calls from customers reporting this problem – we do not think this is a widespread issue. If customers are concerned about scratching we suggest they use one of the many iPod nano cases to protect their iPod.
Those who received iPod Nano with cracked screen may contact AppleCare and get a replacement unit. What about those scratched iPod Nano? Well, get yourselve a pretty case, which will be available soon (with your own money of course)!
