Disney Mix Stick for Kids
Looking for digital audio player for your kids? If you think that your kids are too young to operate an iPod, then the Disney Mix Stick is suitable for them! Disney just announced their latest portable audio player, Disney Mix Stick for preteen consumer. It comes with four styles, which are Disney Chrome, Forever Princess, Sassy Pixie and That’s So Raven.
Basically it looks like an cute iPod Shuffle with a really small display. Its storage capacity is lesses than major DAPs, just 128MB for about 60 songs. But it should be enough for a kid’s need. However, it does include an SD/MMC card slot that supports up to 1GB of storage. With this feature, the user may play Disney’s Mix Clips, the memory card with prerecorded music from Walt Disney Records.

Chris Heatherly, Disney Electronics vice president, said in a statement as such.
Digital music is exploding and is ready to take off with kids. The Disney Mix Stick-Mix Clips combination is the perfect way for kids to get started with digital music because it’s easier to use than players that can only be used with a PC, and it is just as capable.

Disney Mix Stick is expected to be available in later this month and sell for about $49. The Mix Clips will be sell at the price range of a CD.
Update Disney Mix Stickis available at Wal-mart for US$49.97!

THIS WAS A GREAT SITE. I WAS NOT SURE IF THIS WAS A GOOD PRODUCT FOR MY CHILDREN. THEY WANT A I-POD LIKE THEIR DAD BUT I DID NOT WANT TO SPEND A TON OF MONEY ON ONE THAT THEY COULD NOT USE OR MAY LOSE. THIS SEEMS LIKE THE PERFECT ALTERNATIVE TO THE I-POD. THANKS.

The concept of the Disney mix stix is great but I can’t find the pre recorded clips anywhere. Most of the places that the website says have the items don’t even carry it. E.g. Wal Mart, I found the mix stix at target but I only got one clip, Raven. The others were too young for the 10 year old crowd.

I have been trying since Thanksgiving to locate the Disney Mixstick, docking station and prerecorded clips for my daughter for Christmas. All of the area Target stores either have displays with no stock on hand or they have taken down their display even. No one seems to know if or when they will get more in. I finally found one Target in another town with one Mixstick left but no docking station. I bought it hoping that I could find the docking station somewhere so I won’t have to return it before Christmas.
I am beginning to wonder if the Disney Mixstick has not received good feedback and stores are no longer planning to stock this item????

I think you may order it through Disney online store.

Well the Walmarts in this area do not carry the Disney Mix Sticks and their Web site is sold out of the products that I need. I tried the Disney on line store, as suggested, but they do not carry the Jam Stand - docking station. None of the other places that are supposed to carry these items have any stock and many have not even heard of the Disney MP3’s or Jam Stands. Help - I really need to find the Disney Jam Stand before Christmas!!!!

I ordered the disney mix stix and clips from disney online back in November. At the time of order they said all items would ship in two weeks. About two weeks later I had an email saying that one of the mix clips had shipped but everything else was backordered until December 12th. I called the toll free number because I was concerned that I might not get my order for Christmas. I was told the other mis clips had already shipped and that they expected the mix stix on or around the 12th of December and that i would have it in time for Christmas. Well guess what ! On December 12th I had an email from Disney online and was told that now my mix stix is backordered until January 12th. MY twin 9 year old will be very disappointed on Christmas morning because this is all the have really asked for. I am really disappointed in the disney online site. They should have better control on their inventory and not wait so long to inform people about backorders. I can’t find the mix stix anywhere at this late date. Can you give me any help?

I bought a Disney Princess Mp3 player for my granddaughter and we had an early Christmas and it is a bad product. I will be returning it for they tried to download and could only put a few songs on it and it is not at all use friendly for the mother that she says the child will be unable to use it.

Sad to hear that. It seems that Disney not just failed to supply Mix Stick properly.

Target stores carry the mixsticks and docking station as well as the clips. They are sold out of the mix sticks but have plenty of the rest!!!

The only place you can get it at this late date is on eBay. I ended up getting 2, but paid a hefty price for them. I hope they’re worth it!

How do you convert your Walmart.com music to play on the Disney Mix Stick? I’ve been trying for hours and can’t seem to get the files to play on the player.
Thanks

My daughters Aunt bought her one for Christmas. It worked fine the first night and then after I charged it, it quit working. A friend bought two for her kids and the pink one like my daughters doesn’t work but the silver one does. I am taking it back and going to upgrade her to an IPOD. It was really cute but not worth the trouble.

Target here has the docking stations on clearance!! I had the same ordering issue with the Disney Catalog and received my mix sticks 2 weeks after the backorder email even though they were not to arrive until Jan. I will be exchanging one docking station tomorrow as it doesn’t work!! I work for Disney but am sad this product might end up being junk!!

I purchased one for Christmas at Target…the last one in stock. After waiting all day Christmas day VERY patiently, it failed to work. I returned it the day after. Maybe I try a different brand of MP3 player, after hearing the bad reviews. Too bad, I thought it was a great idea.

My daughter received the tinkerbell version for Christmas. It worked for about 5 minutes and then died. I returned it to Target yesterday. I called 2 Targets and both said they weren’t sure when they would be receiving more shipments. One Target actually told me they had clearanced all the items so they may not get anymore in stock. I’m going to the Limited TOO today to pick up a princess one and give it one more shot. If this one doesn’t work either then I’m returning all the accessories I bought.

I purchased our daughter a disney mix-stick at Limited Too, $59.00 and one music disc, Target said they were no longer going to carry the item but had the little disc on clearence. We have tried to down load music from our computer and have been unsuccessful…help.

Bought one for my daughter for Christmas. Great product. Downloaded her favorite CD’s (MP3 format using itunes) to the player. Also bought Ella Enchanted on CD. Downloaded this to 512 SD memory storage (same as my camera uses). She was able to listen to the entire book on the player. Built a disk of her favorite music in MP3 format. She just has to drag and drop onto the device the songs she wants. I have the silver version. Sorry to hear the princess version has problems. Hope Disney continues to support this! I like the idea of the removable storage.

Santa brought my 10 yr old the pink princess mp3. It was great…
Took 5 minutes to set up and all her walmart.com music files converted no problem. Just wish the Sony beans were as easy that my older daughters got. We can’t use the walmart.com music files on their Sonys.
I highly recommend the disney stick. GREAT…………….

I bought this for my 8 year old son for Christmas and he is really enjoying it. Trying to download from walmart.com, but won’t because of the License
agreement, if anyone has any help how to do this that would be great. Otherwise, Thought was easy to set up, just wish Disney’s website was more helpful and they had more accessories for the
boys or just in stock. Especially with the Disney name. Hope to get some music sticks, if we can’t get the walmart.com to download to the the player.

We bought the Raven one for our daughter at Target for Christmas also. She uses it all the time and it works great. We found the High School Musical, Thats so Raven anda Disney hits pre-recorded music. It is easily re-charged by plugging it into your computer USB outlet. We don’t have the docking station and I don’tknowthat you need.
