The Impacts of iPod Nano - Part 2

Two weeks ago, I had talked about the impacts of iPod Nano. Now let us continue to rest of the discussion.
One important message from Apple is that its future products will feature color display screen. Apple had combined its iPod and iPod Photo into one product line, where all iPods feature color display. Now, Apple took iPod Mini out of their product list and add in iPod Nano. It brings a clear picture that future iPod wil be equipped with color display. Other manufacturers had felt the pressure from iPod Nano, at least Creative did feel so. They just introduced its Zen Sleek Photo. The debut of iPod Nano is really a big hit to micro harddrive manufacturers such as Hitachi, Toshiba and Seagate. Apple was their major buyer of micro harddrive while iPod Mini is still available. If Apple do not plan to make any micro harddrive iPod, it will hurts the market badly. However, there is a rumor says that next iPod will features micro harddrive and supports video playback support. We had seen the disassembled iPod Nano. We knew that it is made with third parties’ components. Unlike Sony whose believe in their own components and format, Apple don’t really design their own chips for iPod. By this, Apple has successfully shortened their development process of a new product. iPod Nano has showed us the strength of Apple in marketing strategy. They don’t design a product from the technical perspective, but from the users’ experience. Thus, their products are preferable by the majority although they lack of some necessary features.
