Samsung is going to ship the new flash-based MP3 player, YP-Z5 this month. The company has added YP-Z5A (4GB) and YP-Z5Q (2GB) flash-based audio players to their US website. Both of them are available in black and silver color. The suggested retail prices are $199 and $249 for YP-Z5Q and YP-Z5A respectively.

Samsung YP-Z5 was first introduced at CES 2006 last January. It features an 1.8″ TFT display, MP3 / WMA / WMA-DRM10 / OGG audio playback, PlaysForSure subscription support, JPEG photo viewing / slideshow / wallpaper, DNSe 3D audio processing, and 35-hour battery life.

Sony finally decided to discontinue the production of Walkman Bean. The jellybean was critiqued since first introduced last August. However, the spokesperson hints that an upgrade could be on the way.
Sony Corp. will discontinue its Walkman Bean portable music players in April, less than six months after the colorful, kidney-shaped player hit the market, according to several UK media reports. The company confirmed the decision to UK newspapers The Telegraph and The Independent.

The Chinese Jingwah Electronic has made a breakthrough to the market by introducing its lastest MP3 player, JWD GM300. The core feature of GM300 is to playback MP3 and WMA audio files. However, it does come with several basic functionalities of mobile network connectivity, text messaging and T9 input.
