Is this iRiver E10?
We knew that iRiver E10 was approved by Korean Radio Research Labotary. But iRiver seems that doesn’t plan to release it soon. The company didn’t show it at CeBIT 2006.
However, the Digital Expert reporter managed to snapshot some photos during the interview session with iRiver authorized agent in China. The photos show an unannounced products of iRiver and probably an iRiver E10! There are 2 color available for this product, which are black and white.

Although the photos are quite blurry, we may still see a black part on the top of the player that looks like infrared interface. It looks like to feature D-Navi system also. Hopefully, it may carry U10 style of interface that supports Macromedia Flash Lite.

[…] The previous version of this product, the U10, stands at just 2GB at maximum storage capacity. The E10 ramps it up to 6GB with a micro hard drive and, judging by its dimensions, it’s likely using the same 0.85-inch hard drive as the Cowon iAudio 6. iRiver E10 can play Macromedia Flash files and support some downloadable Flash games as well. 32 hours of audio playback is possible on the E10. The E10 also bears the usual Korean gamut of MP3 features such as voice/FM recording, FM radio and picture viewer (JPEG). Video is restricted only to MPEG-4 simple profile files. Via The Mp3 Players. I bought the E10 in Korea to take traveling , but was disappointed in the limited battery life, the difficultly installing and using the hardware. The E 10 keeps you tied to a computer and is not suited for someone on the go. It’s claimed to have a 35 hour battery life but in reality it is only about 10 to 12 additionally it requires three to four hours to recharge. When I wanted to change the files I had to install the device which took fifteen or more minutes with a reboot required, which is not allowed in many public use computers.

Since HDCAM SR offers a dual HD SDI option, recording 4:4:4 RGB video with an all but invisible compression, it is an option to use it instead of 2k. The resolution is quite similar (1,85:1 - 2048×1107 vs. 16:9 1920×1080) - and it is easier to handle. If the colorist knows what they’re doing this is quite attractive (and cost-effective) for independent film makers. It is done like that at some European post houses.

(ref to char) yes the batt life’s about 12h+ sadly, if youre not fussy its actually pretty convenient to transfer files from the comp to the mp3 player or viceversa. you can drag and drop the files into the mp3 player, that is if youre not too picky about having to go to extras> browser.
