iRiver has just announced the release of H10 5GB/6GB firmware v2.51 (UMS version only). The new firmware is added with few features:
- Interval Repeat (A-B)
- Study Mode (SETTINGS -> Extras -> Study Mode)
- File sorting by alphabetic
- Remembering previously selected menu.
The new firmware has made some improvements in user interface and operating time. It also fixed few bugs that reported before.

iRiver has temporary halted download for H10 20GB firmware v2.50 due to some unknown bugs.
Dear H10 20GB users
We are very sorry to notify you that the firmware V2.50 of H10 20GB(Devices purchased in the US, EU and Australia) is not available at this moment due to some unknown minor bugs.
We will try our best to release a better firmware as soon as possible.

While US people are waiting for the arival of iRiver U10 in November, someone had already dissected it! Chinese fan site, iRiverFans disclose some pictures of the core components of U10.

U10 is also using new Samsung ARM as its audio processing unit. However, it is not SA58450X01 as in T10, it is SA58450X03. The NAND flash memory is also made by Samsung (K4S561632E—TL75)

Finally, iRiver accepts pre-order of its U10 series in North America. iRiver is now taking pre-order on its online store. It will be shipped from 15th November 2005. The retail prices of U10 are US$199.99 and US$249.99 for 512MB and 1GB respectively.

iRiver China, in collaboration with iMP3.net, successfully held a fans gathering in Beijing on 15th October 2005. iRiver China had sponsored some attractive prizes to be won during the gathering, such as iRiver T30.


Although this is a fans gathering, the highlighted section was the launching of new models in China. Products launched in the party are T10, T20, T30, N11 and of course the long awaited U10!
