Cowon N2 - GPS Built-in PMP

There was a guess about Cowon A2 replacement. But it was a photoshoped mock up. Now the real replacement is here, Cowon N2. It is released as Cowon’s plan to replace A2, iAudio F1 and iAudio X5 before the upcoming Christmas. The new N2 is an PMP with DMB and GPS built-in.

The N of the new model is probably stand for Navigation as it comes with GPS module built-in. It is powered by AMD Alchemy 500MHz processor, 32MB flash, 128MB DDR2 RAM and 7″ WQVGA TFT LCD. It is run on Windows CE 5.0. The GPS module is based on SiRF lll chip that supports MXC map. The built-in DMB also enables it to receive major Korean DMB and DAB channels.

JXD639 - iPod + PSP clone?

The low-end PMP manufacturer, Jinxing Digital recently introduce its new model - JXD639 that might recall you Apple’s iPod and Sony’s PSP. It’s maybe just because of its white body and gamepad design? But who cares, it does play FC, GB, GBA games that both iPod and PSP couldn’t play it with cheap prices! Though its price is not announced yet.

Although Yoto T-21 is cheap in price but it doesn’t mean that it has to be cheap in quality. The new T-21 features a big screen with QVGA resolution. It is powered by the RK2608 DSP, the new Rockchip RISC chip. It supports AVI playback upto 30fps at QVGA resolution. With a firmware upgrade, the chip also capable to play other media such as flash and games. All these are more than US$50 worth.

If you are not a big brand followers, it should meet your needs within budget ;)

Meizu Miniplayer 2 and Music Card?

Forget about the Miniplayer clone. There is a rumor says that Meizu to make new version of Miniplayer, called Miniplayer 2. It is expected to have 2.6″ LCD display, and runs Windows CE on its 533Mhz core.

Besides, Meizu also plans to introduce the new Music Card (M3), which is a cut-down version of Miniplayer without video playback function. The Music Card will have 1.3″ OLED display instead of 2.4″ QVGA LCD. The Music Card will not comes with FM tuner built-in. All these cut-down has made it to have thickness of 6.9mm!
