Wow, Apple is looking for the lucky person who purchase the billionth song at its iTunes Music Store! Some luxury prizes are ready to be awarded to the lucky person! The billionth song buyer will be rewarded one 20″ iMac, 10 iPod 60GB (5 white, 5 black) and $10,000 worth of iTunes Music Card. Besides, Apple also awards one iPod Nano 4Gb and $100 worth of iTunes Music Card for every 100,000 songs starting at 950,100,000.

Apple is now slowly phasing out its low-end iPod Shuffle by introducing new iPod Nano 1GB. The new iPod Nano is listed at Apple website today at reasonable price of $149. Meanwhile, Apple also slashed the price of iPod Shuffle to $69 for 512MB and $99 for 1GB.
This seems to be a big impact to the industry, especially Dell which just keep flash-based DJ Ditty. Dell again losses its competitive with new pricing of iPod Shuffle.

Apple has just announced its iPod Radio Remote at Macworld 2006. It is a wired remote playback control for iPod Nano and iPod 5G. Besides, the remote also offers FM tuner functionality. Its suggested retail price is $49, same price range with a Griffin iFM but with less features.
The iPod Radio Remote supports FM stations from 87.5 to 107.9MHz (in both the US and European standards) and 76 to 90MHz (the Japanese standard). You can switch between the different standards when traveling.

It seems that FM radio doesn’t matter to Steve Jobs. You probably won’t see future iPod with built-in FM tuner. Why don’t we just buy a Creative’s Zen Vision:M that has all the features!

Apple gonna make iPod Shuffle smaller than a stick of gum? Shaw Wu, analyst from American Technology Research claimed that Apple seeks NAND flash supply from Hynix for its new iPod Shuffle. It will be probably launched in January 2006 with even more color, of course in our favourite black color.
In order to minimize overlap with the iPod nano, the analyst believes storage capacities and price points will remain similar to Apple’s current iPod shuffle offerings at $99 for the 512MB model and $129 for the 1GB.
Will new iPod Shuffle remains screenless?
