I got the Insignia Sport 2GB Video MP3 Player unpacked few days ago. It looks pretty similar to the Insignia 4GB MP3 Player, but much more smaller than it. The size of Insignia Sport is small. As the name describe, it is designed to be used while you’re exercising.
I was impressed with its price/feature ration. Bestbuy’s Insignia is best known with the affordable and well-designed technology. With less than $80, you are just enough to get an iPod Shuffle 1GB. But you get Bluetooth-enabled MP3 player at the same price (previously $90, now $75).

I’d received a huge UPS box before I left for my new year vacation. There were 3 Insignia products inside the box, which will be reviewed soon. From the left most, Insignia Bluetooth Wireless Behind-the-Head Headphones, Insignia Sport 2GB Video MP3 Player with Bluetooth, and Insignia Kix 1GB MP3 Player.

It may take up a few days for me to finish all the reviews. In facts, I was using the bluetooth headphones with my old Insignia MP3 player during my journey back to Kuala Lumpur, without any glitches!

I4U just reviewed the Insignia Pilot 4GB and gave a very high mark on it, 9/10. It does support various formats of media, FM tuner, memory expansion and Bluetooth. Unlike the one I reviewed, it is powered by an unremovable lithium-ion battery.
The tuner on the Insignia Pilot 4GB MP3 player is one of the best I have seen. It will display song and track information of the station broadcasts RDS data. You can remember songs you hear on FM radio that you like by saving the RDS track and artist data.
The only bad part about the Insignia Pilot 4GB MP3 player is that it lacks a mic for recording voice. A line in jack is included though, which will allow the connection of a mic.

I’d got the Insignia MP3 player unpacked and now here are some of my thoughts. The model I received is Insignia 4GB Video MP3 Player NS-DVB4G. Frankly, I didn’t heard about Insignia before. It is BestBuy’s own brand of MP3 player. It works with BestBuy DigitalMusicStore (actually the Rhapsody).
At first look, it doesn’t look sexy; no fancy design, no slim body. But it does playback video, FM radio, recording, and Bluetooth-enabled that an iPod Nano can’t do. What’s more it is $40 cheaper than an iPod Nano 4GB. You can get all these at just $160 at BestBuy.
