The Korean MPIO was quiet for sometimes in the industry. Now, the company is back with the new MPIO V10. It is the PMP powered by OMAP 2 processor and run on Windows CE 5.0 as it’s core system. It uses 4GB/8GB Solid State Drive as its storage media, and SD card extension.
It features a 3″ TFT LCD touch screen @ 480 x 272 pixel resolution. Beside audio and video playback, the V10 also comes with TV-Out support, built-in FM tuner, and etc. The battery life is about 5 hours for video playback.
The new MPIO V10 is now available in its official website at the price of 228k Won (approx US$230) for 4GB version and 268k Won (approx US$270) for 8GB version.

MPIO ML300 is right for you, if color screen and video playback is not necessary for you. It’s just simple, nothing extra other than audio. Futhermore, it is cheap. You can get the ML300 1GB at only RMB299 (approx $40) or maybe less.

A member of iMP3 forum had visited an OEM manufacturer and posted some body cases of MPIO MP3 players. The right most on picture above is the case of an unknown MPIO model. It is similar to FY800 but not as slim as it is and it doesn’t come with SD card expansion slot. It might be probably a downgrade version of FY800, similar relationship like FY600 and FY500.

I was almost fooled by the name MPIO FY590 that never exist in MPIO product lines. It is an iPod Shuffle clone that made by another MPIO in China. Don’t get confused, MPIO doesn’t make an iPod Shuffle clone! Remember, the real MPIO in China is called MPIO Digitalway!

MPIO announced that it will release FY700 Disney Edition in the coming February. The CES 2006 Innovations Design and Engineering Award winner will have 5 unique designs of the classical Disney cartoon characters, such as Mickey Mouse, Mickey Mouse and Winnie. If Disney Mix Stick doesn’t fit into your needs, you should get this one! Well, no actual plan on when it will be released in North America and Europe.
