MPIO recently announced that its latest MP3 player, FY700, will be released later this month. MPIO FY700 has applied Multi Level Cell (MLC) NAND flash in consumer market.

MLC technology may effectively double the capacity of flash memory and lower down the production cost. It seems to have more tough fight between Apple and Korean makers in future

MPIO is now accepting pre-order of the world smallest PMP, MPIO One (a.k.a FG200) in Taiwan. The retailed price of MPIO One is NT$5290 (approx US$157), NT$6290 (approx US$187), NT$7390 (approx US$217) for 256MB, 512MB and 1GB respectively. It is expected to be arrived before 5th November 2005.

No complaint on this all-in-one MPIO One, except the tiny 1.04″ 65K colors OLED display. Too small to watch a video clips!

Another Korean product introduced. It’s MPIO FY600. Well, this model is not equpped with Philips decoder solution as previous models did before. Is Philips losing market share in Korea?
Just like new iRiver’s model, MPIO FY600 is paired up with Samsung’s decoder. However, it is not the same one that iRiver used. Anyone can tell us which decoder is inside the FY600?!
This model supports playback of MP3, WMA, ASF and OGG (Q10). The price in Korean is 120,000 Won (approx US$155) for 256MB and 170,000 Won (approx US$165) for 512MB.
