If you are one of the Siren or ILO owner, you might be driven crazy about their crappy firmware. One of my reader has got it fixed with upgrading its firmware. He had left a solution on my old post (Siren MP3 Player: Q&A)
My Siren 512MB Mp3 player was caught in a continuous loop on boot up. I
contacted the support department and they sent me a link to the firmware
installer. After running the software my Mp3 player is functional once
again.

iRiver has just announced the release of H10 5GB/6GB firmware v2.51 (UMS version only). The new firmware is added with few features:
- Interval Repeat (A-B)
- Study Mode (SETTINGS -> Extras -> Study Mode)
- File sorting by alphabetic
- Remembering previously selected menu.
The new firmware has made some improvements in user interface and operating time. It also fixed few bugs that reported before.

iRiver has temporary halted download for H10 20GB firmware v2.50 due to some unknown bugs.
Dear H10 20GB users
We are very sorry to notify you that the firmware V2.50 of H10 20GB(Devices purchased in the US, EU and Australia) is not available at this moment due to some unknown minor bugs.
We will try our best to release a better firmware as soon as possible.

Still remember to the cutie MobiBlu DAH-1500 (a.k.a JNC SSF-8100)? It’s firmware is now updated to version 1.56.
The changes of the new firmware are:
- add Fast Forwarding and Rewinding within a track
- add Repeat One function
- add file sort function
- Improved file navigation
How to update firmware?
Here are some step-by-step guides for you!
- Unzip downloaded file. (fw.bin, f1.sys)
- Connect your MP3 player to PC
- Copy fw.bin and f1.sys into root folder of your MP3 player
- Safety remove your MP3 player from PC
- Check “Menu -> OS VER” for firmware version. If it is v1.56, firmware is successfully updated.
Note:
Please make sure your MP3 player has sufficient battery power to finish the updating process. It may damage your MP3 player if the updating process is interrupted due to insufficient battery power.

The users may upgrade that Zen Micro players that have the firmware v1.02.05 or earlier, or Zen Micro PlaysForSure firmware 2.00.12 or later.
The new firmware fixes:
- Prevents battery drain when the player is charged with an AC adapter already plugged into a live power outlet
- Restores proper functionality after disconnecting the power adaptor or transferring content using Zen Media Explorer
- Redirects playback properly when skipping to the beginning of a WMA track
- Allows you to quickly charge your player from your computer’s USB port when player drivers are not installed. Slide the Power switch towards the Lock icon before charging your player.
The enhancements of this version are:
- Improves the look of the volume control bar
- Improves the appearance of the Lock icon
- Adds a 4GB option in Removable Disk Mode (for 5 or 6GB players only)
- Adds support for the Russian language
