We did report that iRiver is planning to release their new S7 series. A few hours later, the iRiver S7 will be official unveiled! The S7 is generally a screenless S10. Well, let see some brief techinal specs!
- Supports MP3, WMA, ASF, OGG (Q10)
- 15mW+15mW Outputs
- Supports SRS WOW 2.0
- D-click systems
- 42 × 30 × 9.6mm
- 15g
- 9 hours of battery life
Without the lcd display, the new S7 is now even smaller. Suggested retail price for iRiver S7 1G is 89,000 Won (approx US$96). With no doubt, it will be an iPod Shuffle 2 killer. But, I think Reigncom should revise their price before iRiver S7 can be a true killer!

iFixit recently published a complete guide on how to disassemble the world smallest MP3 player - iPod Shuffle 2
. All you need are just a spudger and a Philips screwdriver #00.
Well, let skip all the dissassembling process. What I want to know is what the heck inside this tiny thing!

On the top of its circuit logic board, you can see five button sensors, ARM chip and data cable ribbon. No idea about the ARM chip, but it has the number: 337S3300 844A N05WDK01 0642 ARM

The bottom of the board has a Li-ion polymer battery and headphone jack plug, which is most impressive part of iPod Shuffle 2. The plug is multi-modal and switches between USB, analog audio, and possibly power modes.

Apple gonna make iPod Shuffle
smaller than a stick of gum? Shaw Wu, analyst from American Technology Research claimed that Apple seeks NAND flash supply from Hynix for its new iPod Shuffle. It will be probably launched in January 2006 with even more color, of course in our favourite black color.
In order to minimize overlap with the iPod nano, the analyst believes storage capacities and price points will remain similar to Apple’s current iPod shuffle offerings at $99 for the 512MB model and $129 for the 1GB.
Will new iPod Shuffle remains screenless?

Don’t like the plain white of your iPod Shuffle? Why not make some different on it? Taiwanese Mobile01.com has a cool design sticker for it. It is imported from Japan and sold at 490 TWD (approx US$15). With a little amount of money, you can make your babe stands out of others and protect it from scratches.
See how these stickers make your iPod Shuffle looks like this!
