iRiver Japan recently introduced the new low-end DAP, Siren DP10T. It is the second model after the Korean acquired the ex-RIO startup, SIREN Audio. The new Siren DP10T costs only 3890Yen (approx US$35). Well, don’t expect too much with this price.

If you are one of the Siren or ILO owner, you might be driven crazy about their crappy firmware. One of my reader has got it fixed with upgrading its firmware. He had left a solution on my old post (Siren MP3 Player: Q&A)

My Siren 512MB Mp3 player was caught in a continuous loop on boot up. I
contacted the support department and they sent me a link to the firmware
installer. After running the software my Mp3 player is functional once
again.

We have heard many negative feedbacks about Siren 512 MP3 Player, but Walmart doesn’t plan to drop this series. It was once disappear from Walmart.com, and it is now get back online with lower price (but without free music download ). Siren 512MB is now US$62.92 and the new Siren 1GB is US$88.74.
